LUX South Ari Maldives is located on an island called Dhidhoofinolhu, just approximately 30 minutes by seaplane from Male international airport. The transfer and wait for seaplane is convenient and comfortable at the LUX seaplane lounge. Ari Atoll is known for having amazing marine life, where you’ll be able to encounter Manta Rays and Whale Sharks.

Accommodations + Service
LUX South Ari is considered to be one of the larger resorts in the Maldives. There are nearly 200 private villas along the beach and overwater, facing both sunset and sunrise. All the villas are mostly modern with a touch of bohemian elements, there are many decorative beach elements in the interior of the rooms, curating an atmosphere of beach vacation. The room sizes are mostly spacious and standard, cozy and comfortable.

Activities
Because of its central location in the Ari Atoll, LUX South Ari is really close to the possible sightings of Whale Sharks and Manta Rays. There are many excursions during the season where guests can join, as well as many other water sports activities to participate. The island itself is quite big in comparison to many other resorts, there are 2 public pool areas as well as game center and library for guests to enjoy facilities on the island. There are not dedicated buggy transportation, but a circulating buggy shuttle service that goes around the island every 5-10 minutes to pick up and drop off guests. There’s also a magical wishing tree where guests can hang up messages and enter for a chance to win a grand prize at the end of the year.

Restaurants and Bars
There are 8 eateries and 5 bars around the island, plenty of options to accommodate all types of cravings:

LUX* South Ari Atoll boasts eight eateries and five bars. East Market is a sophisticated take on a bustling local night market. Umami offers fine dining from separate sushi, teppanyaki and robata counters as well as the Maldives’ largest selection of sakes and Japanese whiskeys. Allegria, Senses and MIXE stimulate international palettes and the new Beach Rouge introduces the dolce vita of a fashionable beach club to the island.

  • East Market, probably my most favorite breakfast restaurant in the Maldives because it’s got a huge range of asian food options! There’s fresh sugarcane juice, noodle bar, dim sum section, and many more options! At night, there are different asian theme buffets to choose from!

  • Umami, offers fine dining from separate sushi, teppanyaki and also robata counter. It’s got the largest selection of sakes and Japanese whiskeys in the Maldives!

  • Allegria, opens for dinner, beautiful setting by the ocean with live music and dining under the stars. A good range of menu options to choose from, serves authentic souther European recipes, quality Italian ingredients as well as freshly-caught seafood.

  • Senses, inspired Middle Eastern and Indian Ocean cuisine.

  • MIXE, with tables set out on the beach, guests can sink their feet into the warm sand while enjoying Breakfast and Dinner. Buffet style!
