Fushifaru Maldives was once a sandbar, and now turned into a private island resort in the North Eastern Lhaviyani Atoll. This island is located between two channels connecting the atoll’s inner lagoon to the outer sea. Fushifaru is located about 35 minutes by seaplane from Male International Airport.
Accommodations
There are 49 villas spreading across this island, with different room categories to choose from. Majority of the villas are beach villas and there are less than 10 water villas. There’s a certain architectural style to the beach villas here at Fushifaru - the ceiling is shaped into a triangle, giving a high ceiling inside the villa and a really lovely frame when looking out to the pool deck. During my stay, I got a Beach pool villa facing sunrise and it was just the perfect framing!
Spa + Activities
Heylhi Spa, the name is a local saying- it means inner beauty, love, and harmony from the scent of frangipani flowers. The design of the spa layout drew inspirations from the spirit of rejuvenation - from the cleaner fish that scattered through the reef. The spa is located in the middle of the island, surrounded by beautiful lush gardens. A place where you can connect your body and mind through the different relaxation, de-stress, and revive treatments.
Another highlight that Fushifaru offers is a sandbank experience - just minutes away from the main island, a beautiful long stretched sandbank awaits. I always highly recommend a sandbank or sandbar dining experience!
Restaurants and Bars
There are 3 main dining restaurants here at Fushifaru, and guests can also reserve for a destination dining experience with beautiful beach and candle light set up on the island, as well as a picnic at the sandbank!
Korakali, situated right by the beach and serves breakfast buffet and international cuisine for lunch and dinner.
Raakani Grill, opens for lunch and dinner, and serves fresh seafood and different kinds of meat.
Fanihandhi Bar, a place to relax and enjoy a drink by the main pool deck and order light meals and snacks.
