Constance Halaveli Maldives, one of the two Constance resorts in the Maldives, both located in South Ari Atoll. I have decided to visit Halaveli because of its signature long stripe of water villas, I have flew by it a couple of times in the past when visiting the Maldives, and I was always drawn to how amazingly beautiful it looked from the air. It is the longest water villa formation among all the resorts in the Maldives. It is truly quite impressive in person. Check out the video I posted below. The overall environment of the Island feels very Maldivian, keeping the rustic look and island bliss with its design and decor.

Airport Lounge + Seaplane
Constance Maldives has one of the larger seaplane lounges we've visited, it was cozy and comfortable. They have a decent selections of refreshments and snacks, and even a couple foot massage machines for those who need it after a long flight. Constance uses a private seaplane company called TransMaldives, it takes approx 25 mins to arrive a dock near the resort, and 5-10 mins Dhoni boat ride to get to the island.

Accommodations
After checking in at the reception, we were given a tour around the island to check out all the amenities and restaurants before relaxing at our villa. I have decided to stay at one of the water villas with the lagoon view closer to the main island, that way I can walk to the beach easily. However, for those of you who are looking for more privacy, you can choose a villa further away, it is easy to get a buggy to transport you to and from your villa by your personal villa host. Besides, I noticed that the villas that are located further out towards the ocean often have more marine life sightings. As you can see from the photos, Constance's design are a combination of rustic and contemporary comfort. The size of these water villas are nice, I would consider them the mid-size villas among all the different Maldives resorts. I love how they have separated the bedroom, resting area and the bathroom with the entrance leading into the pool deck. Although the pool isn't really big, it is still amazing to just relax and enjoy the view.

Restaurants
There are 4 main restaurants and room service at Halaveli providing a range of different types of food for clients to choose from.

  • Jajaz, the main restaurant, serves buffet breakfast, and international cuisine for lunch and dinner. Has both indoor and out door seating.
  • Jing, located in the middle of the long strip of water villas, has the best spot for sunset and dining, serves fusion Asian and European food.
  • Meeru, serves a la carte menu for dinner, a classic grill kitchen that serves fresh seafood and meat.
  • Kaika Sushi, a sand floored sushi bar, with an open cooking counter that showcase how their food has been prepared.

The heart-shaped beach destination dining is definitely one of my most memorable dining experiences. Dinner was schedule to start around sunset, but I noticed the staff members are already setting up the dinner around 2-3pm in the afternoon. I have been anticipating for the dinner set up from my villa, so I flew my drone over to see what was going on. It was beautiful, as much as I have been prepared for the dining experience, when I got to the dinner set up, everything was perfect. The led lights around the heart shape, the candle lights surrounding the seating area, the lanterns around us, and the fireplace... everything comes together in creating such a lovely ambience. The food and desserts were both excellent, which adds to the entire experience, it was definitely a memorable evening.
